Carrie Ann Inaba engaged! and received an extra special engagement ring from Jesse Sloan. Ann Mangini of Santa Monica’s Rafinity jewelers tole PEOPLE mag “Jesse came in a few months ago,”  about the said engagement ring.

Jesse Sloan was secretive about his proposal and of course his big purchase. Sloan played it very cool when he proposed to his longtime love on live television.

“He had a very clear idea of ring style and diamond cut: princess cut in a clean platinum mounting.”

“Since the ring was so very simple, for a little flair I suggested we set both his and Carrie Ann’s birthstones hidden on the inside of the ring,” Mangini says. “[It's] a Rafinity signature detail and a way to symbolically join the happy couple.”

Sloan and Mangini worked together to design the ring, Mangini presented him with several different sparklers, and Sloan ultimately selected the 2½-carat, D-color, princess-cut diamond he presented to his girlfriend of two years Thursday morning on Live with Regis and Kelly.

As to the few details, Inaba’s birthstone, garnet, and Sloan’s birthstone, which happens to be diamond, are both “artfully” embedded in the ring, as well. Says Mangini, “He was the picture of a handsome excited-to-ask-his-girl-to-marry-him gentleman!” –

Is there any news following the terrible attack on the holy thorn at Glastonbury last December? - Kes

The Holy Thorn grew from a cutting of a tree said to have been planted by St Joseph of Arimathea two thousand years ago before it was cut down by what many now believe were four men with a chainsaw. Needless to say, they carried out their act of malice under cover of darkness. There is no news so far leading to the culprits being reprimanded; though community leaders in Glastonbury set up a fund to try and find out who vandalised this sacred tree. Thousands of people arrive each year to pay homage to it as part of their pilgrimage to a place full of reminders of our earliest Christian heritage in these Isles. If no culprits are identified the money raised will go towards the replanting and future protection of the tree. Local folk are convinced that more than one person was involved, and an increasing number are reaching my view that this wanton vandalism was the work of those on the Left-hand Path.

St Joseph of Arimathea visited Somerset nearly two thousand years ago and drove his staff into the soil at the spot where the Holy Thorn was vandalised three months ago. The staff is thought by many to have once belonged to Jesus, and while most hawthorns only flower in the spring, the Holy Thorn flowers at both Christmas and Easter. It is, therefore, heavily symbolic of the birth and resurrection of Jesus Christ. The sacred tree has been protected by a metal cage to discourage such vandalism. This did not deter the diabolical group who attempted to remove the cage in order to dig up the entire tree in the dead of night. Once this failed, they resorted to cutting off all the branches leaving an iron encased stump. This means that with the stump still intact the tree might recover in due course; although we won't know until Easter. Until then, what remains of the Holy Thorn would best be watered with our prayers.

I am delighted to report that this month a new shoot has appeared on the vandalised tree despite it being mercilessly cut down. We wait to see if this will survive to herald the return of the Glastonbury Thorn.

In the said episode, Emily was on probation for stealing her brother’s pills and had to wear an ankle tracker to go to a gymnastics exhibition. Later, Emily confessed what she have  done and apologized for letting everyone down.

Lauren continued to be mad at her father for keeping her mother from her. She also threw herself at the new boy on the show. By the end, she had moved back in with her father.

Meanwhile, Payson wants Sasha back and finds a possible love interest to Lauren who was throwing herself at earlier in the show. Kaylie on the other hand is in rehab for her eating disorder and finds a friend in her model roommate. Her roommate promises to help her fake her way out of rehab, with the girls agreeing that they just need to be thin for their careers.

According to news from Chicago Sun Times, Basinger who tipped to paparazzi's about the actor's condition led into "major misunderstanding". Well, it just made her ex-husband Alec Baldwin mad again to her.

A major New York paparazzo claims he and other shutterbugs were tipped off by Basinger about daughter Ireland calling 911 last week. Now called a ”major misunderstanding” by Baldwin’s camp, that incident led to Baldwin briefly going to a New York hospital, before being released and declared perfectly healthy.

When Baldwin got home, he was infuriated by the huge number of paparazzi lurking outside his Manhattan apartment building — and had to be restrained from going after a photographer he claimed hassled him physically.

While Basinger’s camp denies any contact with paparazzi, my source insists it was the actress whose call came through immediately after the paparazzi picked up the 911 call via police radios.

According to Hollywood reports, that Amy Adams has been cast as Lois Lane in Zack Snyder's upcoming "Superman" reboot.

Zack Snyder confirmed that Adams had the role to the Los Angeles Times, saying that he reached out to her by phone while in Paris on Sunday.  "There was a big, giant search for Lois," Snyder told the paper. "For us it was a big thing and obviously a really important role. We did a lot of auditioning but we had this meeting with Amy Adams and after that I just felt she was perfect for it."


Adams recently was nominated for an Academy Award for her role in "The Fighter." She joins a cast featuring Henry Cavill as Superman, Diane Lane as Martha Kent and Kevin Costner as Jonathan Kent.

According to news, Manny Pacquiao's Twitter followers became upset he replied one of his follower's question "why he ever ran ran for Congress despite his obvious lack of the House proceeding" with “e di mag reklamo ka sa lolo mong panot”.  The issue started during the voting of congressmen on impeachment trial of Ombudsman Merceditas Gutierrez. Although Pacquiao said that he would vote "no", his vote wouldn't be counted if he is absent.

As to Bianca, it was said that due to Bianca Paz Calendar picture and photo shoot video, the Binibining Pilipinas 2011 hopeful was one of victims of the beauty contest "disqualification spree" quoting Inquirer.net.

According to news, Binibining Pilipinas Charities Incorporated (BPCI) decided to disqualify Bianca Paz from the Binibining Pilipinas 2011 competion to a calendar photoshoot she made two years ago.

It was said that Paz became calendar girl for December 2009 for online game publisher RAN E-Games. Paz was actually wearing two-piece for the calendar photoshoot which makes everyone question the BPCI's decision to disqualify Bianca Paz.

The long awaited prequel of Lords of the Ring finally started filming after battles from actors' union and even financial problem.

According to news, the reason behind the delays of The Hobbit was due to MGM's financial crisis encountered which made them declared bankruptcy.

The Hobbit bosses have now confirmed filming is underway in Wellington, New Zealand and a spokeswoman for New Zealand production company 3Foot7 Ltd. tells The Wall Street Journal, "The mood (onset) is really great."

Movie The Hobbit starred by Martin Freeman as Bilbo Baggins, the film also boasts "Lord of the Rings" stars Ian McKellen, Andy Serkis, Cate Blanchett, Elijah Wood, and Christopher Lee, amongst others.

First part of The Hobbit will be released in December 2012 while the second will follow most likely a year later.

Dear Bishop, What are your thoughts on 'purchasing' relics from such sources as the internet? Assuming they are authentic, my understanding is that these sacred objects are not to be sold but clearly 'donated' to a church, mission, etc. On the other hand, purchase of a relic will take it out of circulation for one's private chapel or church, which at least, takes it out of commerce and potential 'nefarious' sources. Buying relics should probably be avoided. Their authenticity, for the most part, is doubtful, but, even presuming the item is genuine, the dubious practice in my view is morally questionable. I can see your point in wanting to take a genuine relic out of the market place, but in doing so you are obliged to engage in the commercial process itself, which is distasteful in the extreme. True relics very rare and beyond price. They should be donated without the involvement of money to the appropriate church, chapel or shrine.

This item is a reliquary supposedly containing a relic of St Nikolaus, and is currently on sale at $150.00 plus $20.00 postage. Santa Claus, of course, is based on St Nikolaus (aka St Nicholas). Most adults tend not to believe in Santa Claus until faced with the prospect of acquiring a "relic" of his originator with a price tag to match.

Nate Dogg dead at 41 as confirmed by his family as also confirmed by LA Times' website.

Nate Dogg whose real name Nathaniel D. Hale died at 41 Tuesday.

His musical collaborator, rapper Snoop Dogg, tweeted on his Twitter account saying: "RIP NATE DOGG."

Rapper Ludacris said on Twitter: "There is a certain void in hip hop's heart that can never be filled. Glad we got to make history together."

Nate Dogg was born in Long Beach, California. He was the friend and partner in the rap game with rappers Snoop Dogg, Warren G, RBX, Daz Dillinger and was the cousin of Butch Cassidy and Lil' ½ Dead. He began singing as a child in the New Hope Baptist Church in Long Beach and Life Line Baptist Church in Clarksdale, Mississippi where his father (Daniel Lee Hale) was pastor. At the age of 16 he dropped out of high school in Long Beach, California and left home to join the United States Marine Corps,[1] serving for three years. In 1991 Nate Dogg, Snoop Dogg,[2] and their friend Warren G, formed a rap trio called 213. 213 recorded their first demo in the back of the famed V.I.P record store in Long Beach, the demo was later heard by Dr. Dre at a house party and he was instantly hooked on the soulful voice of Nate.

I'm not really surprised to learned that Brad Womack chose Emily Maynard.

Unfortunately, hopeful Chantal O’Brien didn't received the final rose from Brad Womack and was heartbroken.

Brad finally was able to profess his love for Emily after being in love with her for quite a while on the show. In my opinion, Emily Maynard touches every viewers' heart upon knowing her tragic story with her ex-fiance Ricky Hendrick.

I guess The Bachelor's followers knows Emily Maynard's tragic story.

It was a very tragic experience for a young lady to have left by her fiance who have been together since 15 years old and got engaged at the age of 19.

Why I wasn't surprised about Emily Maynard being chose by Brad Womack? Simply, I just noticed that every telecast of The Bachelor's telecast, Google searches for Emily Maynard, Ricky Hendrick and even the plane crash rises.

Back again with Womack and Emily Maynard, the two, have already had their issues and even planned to be married but postponed the wedding because of the issues. But I guess love will cover up those issues as Brad says he’s more in love with her than with any woman in his entire life while  Emily still says she is in love with Brad.

Issues aside, they are having since the show, I believe Brad and Emily will have the issues worked out.

Let's just pray for the success of the relationship of Brad Womack and Emily Maynard in the next coming years in their life.

In the latest news about Tokyo earthquake, it has been reported by authorities that there are at least 32 people were killed by the magnitude 8.9 offshore quake.

The Tokyo earthquake was then followed by at least 19 aftershocks, most of them of more than magnitude 6.0.

"The earthquake has caused major damage in broad areas in northern Japan,".

The worst aftershock than tremors was the tsunami that reached 23-foot (7-meter) tsunami that swept boats, cars, buildings and tons of debris miles inland according to Yahoo News.

Aside from tsunami, it was also seen from TV footages that there were plants burning. Plants reported burning were Cosmo oil refinery in Ichihara city, in Chiba prefecture near Tokyo and was burning out of control with 100-foot (30 meter) -high flames whipping into the sky.

"Our initial assessment indicates that there has already been enormous damage," Chief government spokesman Yukio Edano said. "We will make maximum relief effort based on that assessment."

Followers of the American Idol Season 10 are probably looking for  All by myself lyrics after Pia Toscano performed it earlier (Wednesday night).

Although I'm rooting for Casey Abrams, I can't help also to appreciate or like some of the contestant's performance. Since All by Myself was also performed by Celine Dion, AI fans have expected a little or something more than what she did when Pia performed the song.

But what's really odd with this year's AI hopefuls particularly Pia Toscano is that she believed that All by myself was Celine Dion's original. Come on, it's Eric Carmen. What do you think, does it really matter? Is it necessary for the singer to know the original artist who made your favorite song?

Performance wise, Pia Toscano did well with what she did. No question to that. With only thirteen left and tomorrow will be another elimination round, will Pia Toscano remain?

Our dear friend Gitte died last Friday at her home. She was a very close friend of my late London Secretary, Diana Brewester, and often visited Highgate, London, when Diana was alive. Likewise, Diana would visit Gitte in Denmark. When Diana passed away in December 2003 it was Gitte who ensured that her last wishes were carried out. Her generous assistance during that period was invaluable. Yet I feel that the loss of her friend was something from which Gitte never really fully recovered. I miss Diana, too, seven years after her sudden departure following a terrible illness. It remains uncertain as to what took Gitte from us because the autopsy results were not disclosed, but I am in contact with her last boyfriend, Daniel, who has been as helpful as anyone can be in these circumstances. He is as much in the dark about her end, however, as we are. That notwithstanding, Gitte showed immense loyalty and courage. Frequently outspoken, she was a formidable opponent and a fiercely loyal ally. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. The funeral is being held this morning in Odense, Denmark. We invite prayers for Gitte who is now in the care of her Creator. She leaves behind a daughter, Siri, who is also very much in our thoughts and prayers.

I shall always remember Gitte May-Britt Gifford as an exceptionally strong-willed woman whose thinking could not be influenced or altered by anything other than indisputable fact. She had an inquisitive mind of great intellect, and her unquenchable thirst for knowledge was tempered only by a sense of humour which made her all the more human and all the more likeable. Towards the end, I suspect the balance in her being and life became upset. It is deeply distressing that one so intelligent and so relatively young (she had just turned forty-five last month) can suddenly be taken from us. I shall not forget her, especially her kindness, and her determination.

After Charlie Sheen fired in his famous TV sitcom, Two and a Half Men, the actor's lawyer Marty Singer said "We will sue," as he told The Hollywood Reporter. "It's a matter of when. It could be this week, it could be in a little while. We're in no rush. But we will sue."

Fantasia Barrino, the former 'American Idol' winner who was overdosed with Aspirin last year, is preparing for her role as Mahalia Jackson. Mahalia Jackson was a late American gospel singer, in a feature-film adaption of a book about her life will be portrayed by Fantasia Barrino as reported by The Hollywood Reporter.

Fantasia whose going portray the singer and civil rights advocate's journey from poverty in New Orleans. Mahalia was an inductee into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, passed away in 1982 at the age of 60 and also became a gospel superstar and ardent supporter of Martin Luther King, Jr.

Fantasia's career last year was shaken after being involved in a love triangle and was accused of stealing another woman's husband which leads up to her attempted suicide.
